A self-proclaimed trophy wife who prioritises having her tan and nails done says looking great makes her a better mum. Hope James Fifield, 28, decided during her first pregnancy that motherhood wasn't going to stop her from ''being glam''.
The mum-of-one, who doesn't work, spend £120 per month on Pilates lessons, £32 on her gym membership and £240 on clothes. She even applied false nails just hours before welcoming her daughter, Mariposa, nine months, who she shares with her husband Carter James Fifield , 27.
Hope said: "I've always been vain and that wasn't going to change when I became a mum. "I did consider having full makeup when in labour but I didn't like the idea of mascara running down my face so I settled on false nails that I applied whilst in hospital.
"Even now, I always have my nails and fake tan done because I always like to feel put together. I'll never put myself on the back burner.
"Even if I'm wearing leggings and a sweatshirt, I'll have my makeup and some jewellery on. I like to look nice for myself, and my husband and set a good example for my daughter.
"I hoped and dreamed for a daughter but she is an addition to my life, not my whole life."
The glam mum met husband Carter, who works in technology, in school with the pair tying the knot in October 2020. After marriage, Hope gave up her pre-school teacher job to become a stay-at-home wife.
Before becoming a mum, Hope prided herself on being a "trophy wife" with daily exercise and "always looking put together". "Ever since I was little, I've wanted to be a trophy wife and I want to look like a bombshell," Hope said.
"I love looking hot and being on Cater's arm whilst he shows me off to his work colleagues. I'm very traditional in that I appreciate the man being the breadwinner and that wives should look good for their husbands.
"I was adamant that this wouldn't change when we started a family."
Falling pregnant in October 2022, the couple took a babymoon to Nashville, Tennessee, where they had a pregnancy photo shoot with Hope ''glammed up and bronzed''.
After the couple welcomed their first child, Mariposa - who is named after a Barbie butterfly fairy - Carter brought Hope a £2,000 Chanel diaper bag as a push present and a £42 bottle of 818 tequila. She said: "I told Carter exactly what I wanted as a push present and of course he delivered.
"It was my dream to have a little girl and I knew I wanted to call her a magical name. She's been a dream and is so well-behaved.
"Every mum is different but I chose to bring my baby into my life. I'm still able to do my weekly fake tan, get my nails done and I always have great hair.
"I work out at home whilst Mariposa is down for her nap. Being Mariposa's mum is amazing but I am one and done, I won't have any more children.
"I'm looking forward to when she's older and I'll be able to teach her about clothes and makeup. I'd never push her to be a trophy wife too when she's older, I want her to be whatever she wants to be.
"I may be a trophy wife but I got the perfect husband. We share the housework and Carter will do whatever I don't have the time or energy to do.
"We're best friends and he doesn't care what I look like, only that I'm happy- and that's when I'm tan and glam.
