Remembered for her infectious laugh, kindness and devotion to her family, Bristol Sport’s Lisa Fillingham will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The 56-year-old, who had worked at Ashton Gate for almost 25 years, passed away earlier this week following a short illness.
Tributes have continued to pour in throughout the week for Lisa who was a corporate sales executive for Bristol City FC, Bristol Sport, Ashton Gate and Bristol Bears. She has been described by many as the woman ‘who lit up the room’ with her bubbly personality.
Mark Kelly, CEO Ashton Gate said: “Lisa was a much-loved colleague and friend to so many within our sporting group. She was a “red” through and through, but her ability to mould, mentor and adapt to our wider group meant that everyone benefitted from her passion and professionalism.

“From the first day I joined Ashton Gate, almost a decade ago, her voice and bubbly laughter resonated through our offices. From the early days in the portacabins behind the old Williams Stand, to the new South Stand offices, her Bristolian tones would ring out and inject energy and enthusiasm to others.
“She was a life force and a true pro at commercial sales. She had that innate ability to sell almost anything – and always with a quick laugh and witty comeback to any potential partner that dared to decline her deal.
"Above all she was kind and compassionate. Loved her family and her friends and of course Bristol City. She will be forever missed and always remembered, RIP Lisa we thank you for all you did,” said Mr Kelly.
In a statement, Bristol City FC said: “Bristol City is deeply saddened that our friend and colleague Lisa Fillingham has passed away after a short illness. For almost 25 years, Lisa was the life and soul for those who have worked for City, Ashton Gate and across the Bristol Sport Group.
"Lisa will be remembered by friends, colleagues and fans for her friendliness and willingness to help others. Our hearts go out to her family at this tragic time. We love you Lisa.” Bristol Sport chairman, Jon Lansdown posted on social media : “Lisa would light up the room with her personality - a lovely person, my heart goes out to her family.”
On hearing the news, Bristol City legend and kit man, Scott Murray, posted on social media: “One of the saddest days I’ve had since moving to Bristol, one of the main characters at our football club and one of my closest friends, devastated is an understatement. Lisa, I am missing you already.”
