A man charged with murder at a retirement complex has been remanded into custody. Jonathan Moore, 63, allegedly murdered Henry Mayo, 80, at Welland Court, in Cheltenham.
Mr Mayo was declared dead after suffering fatal wounds on the evening of Sunday, April 14. Moore, of Welland Court, Prestbury, Cheltenham, appeared at Gloucestershire Magistrates’ Court accused of his murder.
Cathy Thornton, prosecuting, told the court Mr Mayo died following alleged “contact” with the defendant. Ms Thornton asked for Moore to be remanded into custody as the court had no power to grant bail in murder cases.
