Noughties Pop Idol winner Will Young is playing Bristol as part of a UK-wide tour this winter. The multi-award-winning pop star will be performing at Bristol St George's on November 19, following the release of his ninth studio album 'Light It Up', which is out on August 9.

Dubbed his 'most intimate tour to date', the tour dates will see an up close and personal evening of acoustic performances, stories and conversation. The tour, titled the 'Light It Up' UK Tour, will consist of 50 dates, kicking off in September and running through to November, and Will says: "I’m remembering my roots of pop and completely welcoming it.

"The song immediately made my mind go to the late ‘70s and early ‘80s. I wanted the fun and nostalgia of that time but to modernise it, and I’m so proud of the result." General sale for tickets will begin on April 26 - you can find out more via the St George's website, or Will Young's official page.

Will Young pipped Gareth Gates to the post, beating him to be crowned the winner of the first series of reality TV show Pop Idol in 2002 following a huge public telephone vote. His latest single, released on April 18, 2024, is titled 'Falling Deep' and is described as channelling the nostalgia of 80s pop with 'a modern, soulful touch'.
