A blogger who promotes body positivity has put together a head-to-toe outfit that's 'perfect' for anyone prone to getting a bloated tummy. The 'stunning' autumn look is from New Look's latest range, and one skirt in particular is proving to be popular.
Influencer and writer Lottie Drynan promoted the cosy look on her Instagram page, writing: "If you’re struggling with what to wear now the weather’s getting cooler I’ve got you: the perfect bloat-friendly transitional outfit. Fully obsessed with an elasticated midi skirt and jumper combination.
"This is my absolute favourite bloat-friendly outfit combination for autumn." The neutral-toned selection included a £29.99 gold satin midaxi skirt, an off-white knitted crew neck jumper at £25.99 and a cream longline coat priced at £49.99.
Although satin fabric can be notoriously unforgiving, she said the skirt was 'so comfy' thanks to its elasticated waist. Lottie added in the comments section: "It's just [elasticated] at the waistband but the fabric has a surprising amount of room."
"You had me at 'elasticated waist'" joked one fan, adding: "That skirt is stunning on you." Another forward-thinking follower wrote: "This skirt looks like the perfect Christmas dinner skirt!"
Lottie started blogging years ago to share her story of living with IBS, and often shares flattering fashion tips and recommendations from the high street. She is also known for her 'same dress different bodies' series with former Great British Bake-Off star Laura Adlington, in which they try on the same high street outfits to show how they look on.
She said the New Look coat is the 'perfect in between fabric for autumn'. One shopper left a disappointed review of the coat on the retailer's website, but only due to a misunderstanding about the colour - though marketed as cream, they said it is more of a light brown in reality.
Meanwhile the jumper, which also comes in four other colours, has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on seven reviews. One shopper said it was 'too wide and short', but others were pleased with the fit, with another writing: "Soft and comfy - love it."
The skirt, which also comes in silver, has no reviews yet but has already sold out in some sizes in the gold. However, River Island is also selling a really similar skirt for £30, also with an elasticated waist.
Its version comes in six different styles, including an animal print on sale for £20 and a pretty floral print, although that has also sold out in most sizes. Lottie finished her look with a pair of flat ankle boots and although it's not clear where they are from, M&S is selling a similar pair for £69.
