Netflix subscribers have said the streaming platform's cheapest monthly plan, which comes with adverts, is a 'great deal'. Despite the low monthly cost, many subscribers have been put off by the affordable rate because it means there are ads included.
However, according to hundreds of subscribers, there are 'hardly any adverts', making the option a 'great value for money deal'. On Facebook, Netflix issued a post about its cheapest subscription plan, which costs £4.99 a month - totalling £59.88 a year.
While the post has sparked plenty of mixed reactions in the comment section, many people are reassuring others that the £4.99 plan with ads 'isn't that bad'. One Facebook user called Rhodri said: "The whinging is ridiculous. Hardly any ads so a great deal in my opinion."
Sue added: "Hardly any ads and they like 30secs when on. Great value." Shulay echoed: "It’s great… hardly any adverts. Good value for money." Jelena put: "I pay £4.99. It’s just few ads a day. So good value."
Fiona admitted: "I changed to this plan which is much cheaper than the £10.99 for ad free. Adverts are short so it’s worth changing." Richard claimed: "We watch the whole of "How to get away with murder", all series without one ad. It's seems to be the new content have more ads."
Barry penned: "Well I was paying £18 a month and reduced it to have very little adverts and saved me a lot of money over a year." However, not everyone shared the same opinion.
Martyn said: "There isn't even a fivers worth of interesting things to watch." Simon added: "Beginning to spend more time trying to find something to watch then actually watching content lately."
There are several different subscription rates Netflix users can pay for that cost various amounts and offer certain features. The standard plan (with adverts) costs £4.99 a month. Standard without ads costs £10.99 a month, while the premium plan costs £17.99 a month.

The Basic plan is no longer available for new or re-joining members. If you are currently on the Basic plan, you can remain on this plan until your plan is changed or your account is cancelled.
