A man has been hospitalised after he was assaulted in Easton during a disturbance over the weekend. Around 10.20pm on Saturday (April 20) police were called to a third party report of a man being assaulted near Napier Road.

Officers went to the scene, but were not able to locate the victim. After carrying out enquiries to find the man, officers were able to confirm that he had been treated by paramedics a number of hours after the assault.

The extent of the man's injuries are not known at this time. It is not thought that they are life-threatening.

An eyewitness said: “What went on in Easton last night? M32 skatepark after a free event around 10.30pm.”

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: "Enquiries are being carried out following a disturbance in Bristol.

"Officers attended the Napier Road area after a third party report of a man being assaulted was reported at about 10.20pm on Saturday 20 April.

"The man was not at the scene when officers arrived, but following further enquiries we were able to establish he had received medical attention a few hours later from paramedics and was in hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening".

Officers are currently carrying out enquiries to establish what happened. They are urging anyone with information to come forward, calling 101 quoting reference number 5224101364 .
