A rush-hour crash has sparked traffic chaos on a main road out of Bristol this afternoon (Friday, April 19). The A370 near Bishops Road, heading towards Weston-super-Mare is closed by police following a crash.

An eyewitness has said the road closure has caused major problems. They said: "Car crash on A370 main road to Weston-super-Mare. Traffic chaos".

Road and traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the crash at 5.43pm. It said: "Reports of slow traffic due to accident on A370 Main Road Eastbound near Chelvey turn off."

Emergency services have been contacted for further information.
