A crash at junction 19 of the M4 caused large queues to form this morning between the motorway's junction with the M32 and the Almondsbury Interchange at junction 20. The collision happened on the eastbound exit slip road. We will post up-to-the-minute information in our blog posts below.
The slip road was partially blocked as a result. National Highways reported stationary traffic.
Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported: "M4 eastbound exit slip road partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident at J19 M32 (Bristol). Congestion to J20 (Almondsbury Interchange).

The crash has now cleared and M4 traffic has returned to normal on the eastbound carriageway.
Traffic easing between junctions 19 and 20
Traffic is easing between junctions 19 and 20 of the M4. There remains congestion around the Almondsbury Interchange and on the M4 eastbound from its junctions with the M48 and the M49.
M48 eastbound congestion
National Highways is reporting queues eastbound between junction one of the M48 and the motorway's junction with the M4 with 10 minutes of delays against expected traffic.
Congestion reaches the M49 interchange
Inrix is reporting that tailbacks have now reached junction 22 for the M49 interchange. National Highways is reporting 30-minute delays.
Crash expected to clear by 9am
National Highways is reporting that the crash at the M4 eastbound exit slip road at junction 19 will be cleared between 8.45am and 9am this morning.
20-minute delays for drivers on the M4 eastbound
Congestion is now stretching all the way up to junction 22 of the M4. National Highways is reporting delays of 20 minutes against expected traffic.
