The end of lockdown is going to be very interesting, as the nation emerges from months without professional grooming.
For many, there'll have been no trims, no hair dye, no heat-styling and no hair extensions.
For others, they'll be left with the results of trying to sort your own hair out at home, whether it's a crooked fade or a patchy dye job.
There are plenty of tutorials out there to help you tackle your own tresses, from fringe trims to root cover-ups, but one hairdresser has weighed in with the most useful piece of advice yet.
Melissa Timperley, who owns a renowned hair salon in Manchester city centre, has been posting a series of IGTV video tutorials on her salon's page.
We asked her what her top tips would be - and her overwhelming stance is that the kindest thing you can do to your hair is to leave it alone.
She said: "Use this lockdown time wisely to give your hair a well-deserved break.
"Have you always dreamed of going blonder? Have longer hair, or have healthier and stronger hair? For this you need to stop heat styling and show your hair some love with treatment masks.
"Hair needs a balance of protein and moisture to be in super condition so look for treatments with these in.
"Your hair goals are in reaching distance if you show your hair a bit of TLC."
When it comes to cutting hair at home, Melissa says that tidying up fringes with a pair of eyebrow or moustache scissors is as far as you need to go.
Speaking of colouring your own hair, she again advises caution - or face costly consequences.
She said: "You will pay a lot more for a colour correction than you will a root touch up when the hair salons do reopen.
"If you’re desperate I would try Colour Fresh by Wella which is a true semi-permanent to get you through until salons reopen."
In good news for the most low-maintenance among us, Melissa also says now is the perfect time to stop washing your hair so much.
"Try and go longer in between washing your hair," she said. "This is a great way to get out of the washing it everyday habit.
"Embrace your natural texture whilst you’ve got nowhere to be and no one to see, you never know you might discover you love your curls."
Finally, if your roots are really getting on your nerves, headbands and scarves are a great way to cover up until you can get back to your salon.
This video has lots of tips, and they all work well to disguise unwashed hair too.
