A tradesman's embarrassing footage 'proves that Fiat 500 drivers can't park' - after he caught a bloke 'oblivious' that his car's back end was lifted almost a foot in the air. Brandon Parfitt was walking home from work when he spotted the car on a country road near his house and thought they had crashed.
The 25-year-old walked over to check everything was okay after spotting the vehicle had gone so far up a grass verge that the back tyre was lifted off the ground and the car was 'parked in the air'. After realising neither of the couple sat in the front were injured, Brandon approached the driver, whose wife was reportedly calmly eating a banana, to tell him that his 'tyres are in the air'.
The 'oblivious' driver can be seen in the video getting out of the car and saying 'oh am I? Oh crikey' before kicking the tyre wheel and inspecting the back of the vehicle. He claims the sheepish couple swiftly drove off and disappeared.
However Brandon filmed the embarrassing driving fail and posted it online, poking fun at drivers of the car with the caption: "Fiat 500 drivers."
Brandon, from Norwich, Norfolk, said: "I was on a walk home and was coming up the road near my house. It's a narrow hill down a country lane. I saw the Fiat 500 there and at first I thought they'd crashed. There was an old lady and an old man just sitting in the car just quietly not doing anything.
"I thought 'I won't say anything' but I walked past and just checked the back of the car to see if it was alright or if they'd been shoved up the back or something like that. I turned around and went 'nah, I've got to say something' because it was parked very much in the air. I mentioned it to him and he was completely oblivious to be honest with you. He said, 'Oh am I, oh crikey' and kicked the tyre.
"I don't get how he didn't notice. After I mentioned it, he said 'thank you' and the next thing I heard was him just revving and then he went off. He was completely oblivious, not so much as a thought really. It was so silly but I'm shocked at how oblivious he was to be honest."
Brandon was shocked by what he saw, but was glad to see both the driver and passenger were uninjured as he had initially believed they could be hurt. Brandon said: "It's not really what you expect.
"I'm shocked they parked there to be honest, but I was more concerned for the drivers. I knew they were both okay because they were both chatting and I think his wife was just eating a banana in the passenger seat.
"It's just totally random and there is that running joke about Fiat 500 drivers. Everyone likes to joke about them. If I hadn't filmed it, I don't think people would believe it."
After posting it online, the video received more than 600,000 views, 48,000 likes and hundreds of comments. One person wrote: "There's no way he's that oblivious [crying emoji]."
A second said: "Normal Fiat 500 driver [laughing emoji]," however a third said: "Best parking I've seen from a Fiat 500 in fairness."
One commenter branded it the 'worst parking fail ever' while another joked that it wasn't parked but was 'crashed'. Another said: "He had to have a proper good look as well like it's not obvious the wheels off the floor [shocked emoji, laughing crying emojis]."
Another wrote: "Why is it that all Fiat 500 drivers can't drive?"
A final put: "How did he not realise [laughing emoji]."
Though some suggested Brandon was at fault for filming the driver's predicament.
One said: "I hate people that don't mind their own business."
And a second said: "Why do people video everything? If people videoed me and put it on here, I'd be p*ssed."
