Hello and welcome to the final live blog from the Memorial Stadium this season as Bristol Rovers host Peterborough United in League One. The Gas are looking to finish the campaign as strongly as possible on the back of back-to-back wins while there is still an outside chance for the Posh to sneak the second automatic promotion place.
Albeit unlikely, Peterborough can still finish second but it's Derby County who are firmly in the driving seat going into this afternoon's set of fixtures with Posh boss Darren Ferguson admitting that he'll be keeping one eye on the Rams' game at Cambridge United which will affect how he manages his team in-game.
The club-record goalless streak is a distant memory a week on from it's end last Saturday in the 3-1 win at Cheltenham Town while Rovers did well to secure another victory late on against Cambridge having enjoyed an excellent first half before the game seemed to fizzle out in the second.
For some players, this will inevitably be their final home game as a Bristol Rovers player and so signing off on a high is certainly the prerogative.
Follow along for build-up, team news, live updates and post-match reaction as Rovers face Peterborough.
Key Events
That's all from us this evening
Plenty to sink the teeth into over the course of next week though. Stay tuned but, until then, enjoy your weekends.
Matt Taylor uses Peterborough as exemplar of the type of side he wants to create at Bristol Rovers
Matt Taylor has admitted that Peterborough boasted a number of the qualities that his Bristol Rovers side lack and that he wants to add to his squad over the course of the summer.
Apologies for the delay
After press with Matt Taylor and Harvey Vale we immediately went to speak to Chairman Hussain AlSaeed and Community Trust CEO Adam Tutton. Hopefully makes it worth the wait.
Matt Taylor has his players in a circle on the pitch
Clearly some sort of team talk. The players, I believe, are to head back down the tunnel to get their families before a lap of appreciation.
Full-time: Bristol Rovers 0-2 Peterborough United
That's it for Bristol Rovers' home campaign. They gave it a good go but ultimately the better team won, nothing to complain about. Reaction to follow.
GOAL! Bristol Rovers 0-2 Peterborough United
Ricky-Jade Jones flicks it past Ward. Great finish.
Posh want a penalty
Jones lobs the ball over Ward but collides with the goalkeeper in the process. Corner given.
Hunt and McCormick see shots blocked
It's all Rovers at the moment in terms of possession but it's about how they convert that into better chances.
Rovers' best chance of the half
Excellent work from Vaughan who gets into the box and cuts back to Evans who forces a good save from Steer. Corner Gas.
Triple Rovers change
Jack Hunt, Harry Vaughan and Luke McCormick on. Aguilera, Thomas and Hoole off.
Gas corner
Thomas has a crack from the edge of the area and it's cleared out. Moments prior Aguilera pulled an effort wide.
Rovers giving it a good go now
Vale the latest to get a cross into the box and it nearly falls to Sinclair and then Thomas but Peterborough get the ball away.
Better from Rovers
Lovely build-up play but Rovers can't quite get that final effort away with Thomas getting through at the back post but his attempted pass back is smothered by Steer.
Big save from Steer
Sinclair races into the box, cuts inside and fires on goal but Steer saves. Golden chance for 1-1.
Bristol Rovers change
Another 52 minutes for Jordan Rossiter. Looked as though he could've carried on there. Kamil Conteh comes on.
Shot on target for Gas
Aguilera cuts a pass to Evans who fires on target but doesn't get enough power behind the strike. Bright start to the half from Rovers.
Gas back on the pitch
A bit more belief in the final third and there could be something here for Rovers.
HT: Bristol Rovers 0-1 Peterborough United
The effort has been there for the most part from Bristol Rovers but they've allowed Posh to get into their stride. I can't remember the last time a visiting side had two thirds of the possession at half-time.
Thomas booked
Most obvious yellow card you'll ever see. The winger didn't mean it but he completely wipes out his man.
