Hello and welcome to today's live match blog.

Bristol City head to Turf Moor as outsiders this afternoon and they can take plenty of confidence to Lancashire following their performance at Norwich on Wednesday.

Despite defeat, City showed they can match the promotion hopefuls and it'll be a similar test against Vincent Kompany's side who have their own ambitions of making an immediate return to the Premier League. They have lost just once this season but have drawn five of their nine league matches.

It's the final game before the international break before a well-deserved rest and Nigel Pearson will expect his side to show a similar intensity to their play despite the quick turnaround in their schedule.

There are likely to be no fresh new injury concerns and therefore, albeit without Tomas Kalas and Ayman Benarous, Pearson will have a full-strength squad to choose from. He could make one or two changes in order to freshen the legs with Antoine Semenyo pushing for a start.

We'll bring you all the latest news and rumours across the day so stay tuned and continue scrolling down below.

Full-time Burnley 2-1 Bristol City

There it goes... Burnley take the points and that was a long afternoon for City. They looked exhausted towards the end. Reaction to come.

  • Share

Chance...

Oh Wells, City recycle the ball and it falls to Wells on the edge of the box. He looks for the top corner but it's high, wide and not very handsome.

That could be that...

  • Share

Weimann...

What a player... he chases a ball down the right and gets in a cross. It takes a little deflection out of the path of Semenyo and City eventually win a corner in a dangerous spot.

  • Share

Chance for three

Close for Zaroury... Massengo is robbed in midfield and Pearson is fuming. The ball is fed to the left but the forward's effort is denied well by Bentley at the near post

  • Share

Chance!

Wells again does well to run the channels and he plays a cross into Semenyo... He takes a second and fires a powerful effort that is well blocked on the edge of the box.

  • Share

Another change

This time Atkinson comes off and Chris Martin replaces him. Three up top now then for City with Weimann behind them.

  • Share

Massengo coming on

Matty James is coming off for Massengo... a bit of energy in midfield for the final 15 minutes.

  • Share

Joe Williams

He slips off the edge of the pitch and he looks to be in discomfort... He's carrying on at the moment but he's holding his groin.

  • Share

Chance!

City almost respond after Semenyo does well to win the corner. It comes out to Williams who hits it cleanly but it's blocked from the keeper who makes the save.

  • Share

How it happened

It's quite simple. Gudmundsson gets his cross away and Rodriguez runs across the box to glance his header into the far corner. He was left unmarked.

Bentley had absolutely no chance.

Goal Burnley 2-1 Bristol City (Rodriguez)

Damn.

Another Burnley sub

Tella is climbing out of Vyner's pocket and comes off and is replaced by Zaroury.

  • Share

City can't get out

Lots of pressure from the hosts as Vyner clips a header behind for a corner to Burnley...

City just can't hit them on the counter attack. They're penned in at the moment.

  • Share

Comfortable

I hope I don't jinx anything here but Burnley seem to have run out of ideas at the moment and City's defence is very comfortable.

Everyone's working really hard.

  • Share

Chance

The game hasn't quite come to life but Bentley does well twice. First to punch away a corner and second to comfortably save a strike from distance.

City need to try and get Semenyo in the game - Williams drives a strike from distance wide of the right post.

Sub for Burnley

Benson is coming off and is replaced by Gudmundsson.

  • Share

Chance!

Wells up the other end!

Sykes whip it in from deep and Wells gets a glancing header on the ball. It's a great header the keeper has to tip it over the crossbar.

  • Share

Almost a penalty

Burnley weave it through the City defence and it's Rodriguez who goes down under the challenge of Bentley but the offside flag goes up.

Back underway

So Burnley get us going. The hosts had 73 per cent in the first half...

They're moving the ball around in defence again.

  • Share

Double subs

It looks like Semenyo and Williams are coming on for this second half...

Conway and Alex Scott are coming off. Remember Scott was booked in the first half.

Semenyo and Martin

They're both warming up on the pitch and look like they're about to come on for this second half.

Half-time whistle

There it goes and City finished that half strongly. A strange game here but City responded really well to get themselves back into this game.

  • Share

Chance!!

Ooo so close! Weimann lifts it over the top to Wells who plays a super first-time ball across goal to Conway who clatters into the keeper.

The ball comes out but it's a couple of yards away from Weimann to smash it in. Agonisingly close.

A dive

Tella goes over way too easily in the area from Sykes and there's a roar from the home fans but the referee isn't interested in that.

No one really appealed.

Fair play to City. They were getting torn to shreds in the opening 15 minutes but they've been really disciplined since then.
