A brand new McDonald's restaurant has opened in Emersons Green, creating 120 new jobs. The new 'eco-friendly' branch of McDonald's is now serving customers following a significant investment by local franchise owner Laura Wilder.
The restaurant, in Fieldfare, Emersons Green, will offer a range of services, including dine-in, takeaway, drive-thru, and click & serve, with McDelivery options kicking off from Thursday, April 25. It will operate around the clock, every day of the week.
The new branch will have a 74-seat capacity as well as a large outdoor patio and a play area, which will open in May. The restaurant's layout, including a specially designed kitchen and a dedicated area for couriers, is tailored to improve service speed, efficiency and accuracy, allowing the staff to cater for both delivery drivers and diners faster than ever before.

Laura Wilder, who now runs two McDonald's restaurants in the local area, said: "We are delighted to open another brand-new McDonald's restaurant and can't wait to see local customers enjoy our services on offer.
"People are at the heart of our business, and we look forward to welcoming new employees with the jobs our restaurant will create. We're committed to investing in opportunities for a mix of all ages, life stages and backgrounds, promoting flexibility and equality. It's particularly exciting to be opening this new restaurant as McDonald's celebrates its 50th year in the UK!"
McDonald's new branch in the South Gloucestershire town will launch a series of eco-friendly innovations as part of its mission to achieve net zero emissions across all its restaurants and offices by 2030. The restaurant, while maintaining the classic McDonald's aesthetic, incorporates cutting-edge sustainable design elements.
These include:
- Roof-mounted solar panels for on-site renewable energy generation.
- A fully modular structure that can be repurposed in the future.
- Timber window frames and partition walls, replacing traditional aluminium and steel frames.
- Wall lettering made from recycled materials, including McDonald's own coffee grounds.
New trials beginning at McDonald's Bristol Emersons Green feature:
- Air windows designed to retain heat within the building, thereby reducing energy consumption.
- Plastic kerbstones crafted from recycled materials, featuring built-in internal drainage to minimise the use of building materials.
Mayor of Emersons Green, James Hunt, was all smiles at the grand opening of the new McDonald's. He said: "I'm delighted to attend the opening of this brand new McDonald's restaurant bringing investment and employment to the local community in Emersons Green.
"The council and I look forward to working with Laura and the restaurant team as they continue McDonald's great work in serving the local community."
