Aldi has announced the launch of Prime Hydration’s newest drink that has the ‘best flavour yet’. The budget supermarket will be bringing Prime’s Strawberry Banana flavour to its stores in just a few days.
Going on sale this Sunday, April 21, the drink will be available as a Specialbuy and will cost just £1.99 for a 500ml bottle. And like every Aldi Specialbuy, once they’re gone, they’re gone.
The new Strawberry Banana flavour boasts the 'refreshing sweetness of ripe strawberries and the smooth richness of bananas'. The Instagram announcement of the new flavour combo not only garnered nearly one million likes but had those lucky enough to have tried the drink dubbing it ‘the best flavour’ to date.
Prime Hydration, which is ten per cent coconut water, contains electrolytes, B vitamins and BCAAs. It also doesn't contain sugar and is only around 20 calories per bottle.
During previous launches of Prime, the budget supermarket has seen high shopper demand. With the new Strawberry Banana flavour proving so popular already with Prime lovers, the drink is expected to fly from shelves.
At the beginning of April, Iceland announced it would also be stocking the in-demand drink. The new addition will join the brand’s already highly popular line-up of Prime products.
The hugely popular drink first rolled out in UK stores in late 2022, and saw chaotic scenes as supermarkets faced queues of people and stock selling out within seconds. Demand has continued with Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi, Asda and Sainsbury’s also stocking the drink.
The new limited edition flavour launched in-store and online at Iceland and The Food Warehouse nationwide for £2 on Monday, April 8. Iceland currently stocks a range of Prime’s well-loved drinks, including flavours such as Cherry Freeze, Lemon Lime, Lemonade, Blue Raspberry, Strawberry Watermelon, Ice Pop and Tropical Punch flavour.
